Give thanks that Rob and Esther Koops are safely back from Nigeria. The Bible translation workshop went very well. Teams from all over Nigeria were able to participate and everyone stayed well. Praise God!
Please pray for our new elders, Gail DeYoung and Jim Patten, and our new
deacons, Josiah Keen and Vera Jones. They will begin their terms of service in September. Jennie Todechine, mother of Hillary, Warren & Drew, and sister of Tweety
Henio, passed away this past week. Please keep their families in your prayers. We praise God that Linda Hekman and Gary Hoeksema completed the Red
Mesa Leadership Development Program, passed their examinations at the last Classis Red Mesa Meeting, and are now licenced to exhort in Classis Red Mesa. Please pray for Rob and Esther Koops as they go to Jos, Nigeria, for an Old Testament translation workshop (traveling May 10-11 and May 31-June 1). Pray also
for the 15 teams of translators and as many consultants coming to this workshop. Thank you for your prayers for Ben Vanderwerff. He has completed two week of
Radiation treatment, and so far the treatments are going well. This will be a 4 week session, during which he will go in every day for a treatment, except on the weekends. Please continue to keep Ben and Etta in your prayers. The Louis family would appreciate continued prayers for Dorann’s dad, Glen Vanderaa. He was in the hospital with pneumonia. He had surgery to remove fluid
from his lungs last week, and he is now home and recovering. Pray that his recovery will go quickly. Please pray for Gary and Marsha VanEe. They are volunteers at Rehoboth Christian
School. Two weeks ago Gary had a lump removed located on his cheek just below his right eye. The pathology report said the lump is a malignant melanoma, skin cancer, of a rare type and needs to be treated vigorously and soon since not all of it was removed. Gary's info was sent to the University of Michigan where there is a melanoma clinic. Hopefully they will soon have some idea of a course of action for treatment. We praise God for a healthy baby girl, born to Sean and Rachael Kass and big brother
Elliot. Annaliese Joy was born last Sunday morning, April 21, 2013. If you are interested in helping with meals for the Kass’, please contact Nikki VanSlooten. |
